staging ~ stop short of cheesy

These MLS pictures depict staging gone awry. The “staging” items chosen for the kitchen counter of an obviously unfurnished home make no sense ~ a basket with groceries including a box of Bisquick, 2 placemats with coffee cups & tissue paper springs, a huge fake plant & an open magazine? And, there are 2 more fake plants & a little leaning painting on the fireplace ~ it just looks cheap.

The way this bathroom is “staged” is crazy over the top with the soaps, lotions, oils & loofah, as well of the bath rug & towels ~ one leaning against the wall with a bow? And, what’s up with the toilet paper? All this stuff layered on a bland & boring bath & yet I see no hint of a mirror over the sink.

More with the magazine on the counter & an abundance of bath products & towels. What’s that little thing on the wall? Just what you don’t want ~ folks on the internet scratching their heads.

Well placed accessories & art can make your MLS pictures sing & enhance the architecture & features of your home for showings & open houses. Just make sure that you stop short of cheesy.
