staging ~ creative headboards, part 1

by lin ellis on August 13, 2009

When presenting your home to potential buyers, you want each room to be warm, inviting & finished. If you have a bedroom that has a bed with only a box spring & mattress, here are some affordable do-it-yourself headboard ideas that deliver that finished look. Most of these can be tackled by someone with average diy skills & can be taken with you when you move.

This first one was originally a pocket door. With the addition of decorative molding at the top, a top notch paint job of bright white paint & mounting a pair of delicate sconces that cast a soft light, this easy project delivers massive amounts of style ~

Another simple solution is to take some plywood, attach some batting to it & then cover it with fabric & attach to the wall ~

This final headboard was created with an already stretched canvas purchased at a craft or art supply store & painted with acrylic paints. Not confident with your artistic skills? Use painter’s tape to create a graphic pattern or stripes in your bedroom’s accent colors ~
