style is in the details is loosely comprised of 4 components ~
~ staging demystified ~ this is where I explore the strategies & tactics of preparing a residence for sale
~ details ~ is very organic & is where I share my love of interior design, style & all its elements
~ resources ~ is, obviously, where to find lovely & functional furniture & decor & we’re not just talking Ikea
~ totally crafty ~ where art & craft intersect. when I envisioned this site many, many months ago, I expected to have this button more populated at this point & liberally containing personal creations, but a puppy named Riley, the hard pavement of a parking lot & an operation on my shattered wrist by Dr. Baker has temporarily kept that at bay
Also in the midst of all of this is my eternal desire to learn & then share. To take something that I have a little knowledge about, do some research & consequently gain a little bit more knowledge. But, to quote Barbra Streisand in Yentl “The more I live, the more I learn. The more I learn, the more I realize, the less I know.
My very first details post was about iconic furniture designer, Richard Schultz who, at 73, is still conceiving beautiful garden furniture. At only 46, Amsterdam based Marcel Wanders is already an icon. Marcel’s fame started with the knotted chair ~ where macrame’ meets high tech or, to say it another way, handcrafted gets a shot of epoxy. The knotted chair was designed for Droog Design in 1996. Weighing in at only 3 lbs., it can hold 175.

Since Droog, Marcel has also designed for some of biggest European contemporary design manufacturers: B&B Italia, Bisazza, Poliform, Moroso, Flos, Boffi & Cappellini. In 2000, he became the art director & co-owner of Moooi, which has grown into an internationally renowned design label.

“With love, passion and poetry we will take design to new heights.” ~ Marcel Wanders

I’m trying to do something that makes you feel like life is exploding. If that doesn’t happen, then it doesn’t make sense.” Marcel Wanders
