Brooklyn based architect & designer William Oberlin has just debuted his Etsy shop called, lobsterrocket. His first offering is an animal chandelier influenced by a traditional 18th and 19th century American one, but using modern material & construction techniques. Furniture from this era is rich with military imagery & nature symbols & this chandelier has drawn its inspiration from that.

This chandelier was designed in solidworks, a 3D modeling program and cut from 1/4 oak plywood on a homemade CNC router.

The component parts are laminated together to mask the placement of the lamp cords.

The wood finish is sanded and treated with a clear coat of polyurethane lacquer to highlight the oak grain.

This chandelier is approximately 4′ in diameter.

I wish lobsterrocket much success on Etsy!
