Iconic furniture designer, Richard Schultz (73) joined forces with his son, Peter (40), an architect, in 1992 to create Richard Schultz Designs.
“Form follows function, or should. But form also follows technology. The most interesting furniture comes out of a new way of doing something. What’s interesting about furniture is what it looks like and how it feels. Beauty and utility. One without the other is a conversation piece.” ~ Richard Schultz
Richard Schultz’s pieces are very sculptural & draw from nature for their inspiration. His current offerings are a combination of classic designs he created as an employee at Knoll between 1951 & 1972 as well the new items he starting sculpting with cardboard scraps, a mat knife & some glue when he was in his 60s. My favorite collection, Topiary (16 colors available), is made of bent, stamped & folded aluminum & is designed to look like shrub trimmed to the shape of a chair:
I am also partial to the Wing Collection ~ a modern play on the traditional wing chair:

This is garden furniture that is a major upgrade from a traditional patio set. Get lost on their website here.
